Biography

Tammo Steenhuis is a Professor in the Department of Biological and Environmental Engineering. He is also one of the faculty members leading the dynamic and innovative Soil and Water Group. S&W’s broad mission relates to the management of soil and water resources and tries to improve the understanding of physical, chemical, and biological processes related to water flow. The ultimate goal is to improve and protect water resources and ecological systems throughout the world in socially conscious ways.

Research Interests

To understand how the landscape and people affect the water, sediment, nutrient, and other chemical flows in the landscape.

Teaching Interests

Watershed management and research methods in Ethiopia.
