Research Interests
Dr. Hitchcock’s research focuses on the dynamics and variability of the atmospheric circulation at the largest scales. He has a particular interest in the stratosphere. Hitchcock says that in recent decades it has become clear that some of the most fascinating dynamical features of the stratospheric circulation have a surprising impact on near-surface weather and climate.
