Why you choose Cornell Engineering?
I knew I wanted to go to a school in a more rural setting, but still have some conveniences that are found in a city. Ithaca is a fantastic place to explore, with a large amount of parks all over the city. The TCAT bus also runs throughout campus, so getting places is relatively easy. Cornell Engineering also has a great variety of interesting classes as well, so I was confident Cornell was the right choice.
What is your favorite thing about Cornell Engineering?
I really like how collaborative everything is as well as the opportunities that are present at the College. Not only can you learn the theory for a lot of subjects, you can also apply them to team-based projects, whether it be through project teams or research or something else entirely.
What do you do outside of the classroom?
I’m part of a Chinese Yoyo performance group called the Cornell Pro-Yos. Our team holds several performances a year and it’s a great way for me to unwind after classes and meet with friends. I’m also part of the Engineering Ambassadors, where I’m able to give tours to prospective students and share what I think makes Cornell Engineering so great. I also was part of a project team called Cornell Cup Robotics, which allowed me to work on interdisciplinary projects with a large group of students.
