Meet Samantha

Major: mechanical engineering
Hometown: Rockville Centre, NY

Why did you choose Cornell and/or Cornell Engineering?
I was drawn to the fact that 50% of engineering students here are women! I was also super eager to join one of Cornell’s famous project teams and get some hands-on experience in my field.

What is your favorite thing about Cornell and/or Cornell Engineering?
How it has pushed me to become a problem solver, and to not give up even when the solution is not clear.

How did you get involved outside the classroom?
I was in an a Cappella group that competed in NYC’s Town Hall last Spring. I was also a part of Engineers in Action, a project team that designs and builds suspension bridges in geographically isolated areas.
