Major: biomedical engineering
Hometown: Shizuoka, Japan

Why did you choose Cornell and/or Cornell Engineering?
I chose Cornell because I knew I wanted to study biomedical engineering and Cornell has a good BME program. I also liked the diversity at Cornell, which I thought would allow me to expand my horizons.

What is your favorite thing about Cornell and/or Cornell Engineering?
I like the rich opportunities at Cornell Engineering. We have a lot of interesting classes and research opportunities, and there are always fun events such as hackathon.

How did you get involved outside the classroom?
I’m conducting research at BME department, serving as a facilitator for Academic Excellence Workshop and a tutor for math. I’m also on an e-board of a student organization that mentors local high school students.
