Meet Christina

Major: mechanical engineering
Hometown: Beijing, China

Why did you choose Cornell and/or Cornell Engineering?
I chose Cornell Engineering because of its project teams. Back in high school, I used to compete in robotics competitions, and I wanted to continue doing so in college. With over 30 different project teams, Cornell provides me with the perfect opportunity to work in a team setting and gain more hands-on engineering experience.

What is your favorite thing about Cornell and/or Cornell Engineering?
I love all the opportunities that Cornell offers and seeing what amazing projects my friends are working on. In Duffield Hall and Upson lounge, there are always some events going on. Cornell introduced me to a lot of different possibilities of engineering.

How did you get involved outside the classroom?
I am part of Cornell Electric Vehicle project team where we design and develop an autonomous energy-efficient car. I am also a part of the Society of Women Engineers and the Chinese Student Association. I applied to them at the beginning of my first semester and really enjoy being a part of different groups on campus.
