Meet Adi

Major: biomedical engineering
Hometown: New Haven, CT

Why did you choose Cornell and/or Cornell Engineering?
I chose Cornell Engineering because it has one of the best hands-on learning programs in the nation with its project team program. I also liked that Cornell lets you take pretty much any course that you’re interested in.

What is your favorite thing about Cornell and/or Cornell Engineering?
My favorite thing about Cornell Engineering is the people I’ve met in it. A lot of my closest friends are either in my major or in the College of Engineering! The faculty and Ph.D. students that I’ve gotten the opportunity to talk to are also very nice and down-to-earth.

How did you get involved outside the classroom?
Outside of the classroom, I’m heavily involved in research. I’m part of the Rawlings Cornell Presidential Research Scholar Program, I’m currently a student advisor to Cornell iGEM, a synthetic biology project team and I also work in the Butcher Laboratory. I also TA for various BME courses, I got involved with a Student Assembly subcommittee, I’m a senior editor on Cornell Undergraduate Research Journal, I’m part of undergrad BMES (Biomedical Engineering Society). Outside of this, I play on the club squash team (after taking squash for one of my PE class requirements), enjoy lifting and climbing, and generally being active.
