Why did you choose Cornell and/or Cornell Engineering?
I chose Cornell University for both its academic rigor and its proximity to outdoor activities. Not too many schools can say that they have high academic prestige as well as being located in a beautiful landscape such as Ithaca. To me, places that offered outdoor activities such as canoeing, hiking, and running were quintessential in choosing a school. Cornell has a great balance between outdoors and academics and that’s what really stood out to me.
What is your favorite thing about Cornell and/or Cornell Engineering?
Project teams! I’m the current technical consultant for Cornell Concrete Canoe. It’s a great opportunity to apply knowledge that I learn in the classroom to a physical project.
How did you get involved outside the classroom?
Find clubs that you enjoy. I joined a lot of clubs freshman year and narrowed down to a few clubs that I really enjoyed. I’m on Track and Field Club and ASCE and have met a lot of people with similar interests as me. I also am a lab assistant in Bovay Lab which has been a lot of fun and another great opportunity to gain work experience.
