Why did you choose Cornell and/or Cornell Engineering?
Though I knew I was interested in engineering, I came into Cornell not knowing what I wanted to do with this passion. The wide variety of majors, not just in the College of Engineering but the University as a whole, made me feel confident that I would find what I enjoyed most. More than 2 years later, I’m continuously amazed by the opportunities offered to Cornell Engineers in regards to clubs, project teams, and fascinating courses.
What is your favorite thing about Cornell and/or Cornell Engineering?
The collaboration of students. Given the strong reputation of the school, I feared that students would be “cutthroat” and competitive, but I have found entirely the opposite. Cornell Engineers are among some of the most helpful and collaborative people I have met.
How did you get involved outside the classroom?
My freshman fall, I joined DEBUT, a biomedical engineering project team, and currently hold a leadership position on the team. I am involved in various professional clubs on campus including SWE, WICC, and PDOW, and I have also participated in research in the ORIE department. Additionally, I was on the D1 Women’s rowing team during my sophomore and junior year.
